It is a common knowledge these days that many Nigerians are unhappy with the state of the nation. Times are hard these days, and they are also not only losing hope today but also for a better tomorrow.
However, to a Tiv Man there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.
Currently, Corona virus (COVID-19) has been declared by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Pandemic virus. Nigeria is not left out, And they are also trying all possible means to prevent the spread of the viruses in the country.
However, to the people of Jato – aka, Turan, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State are facing much problems. As they are been attacked by herdsmen day in day out, innocent Souls are killed, thousands of properties has been destroyed.
Historically, Kwande LGA is a place that Tiv regards as their first settlement in the present days of Nigeria, an ancestry home. It is a sort of Jerusalem for all Tiv people around the global. It is totally unacceptable and undeserving for people living in such ancestral home being chased out and killed by the herdsmen.
It is no longer news now, Benue people have been suffering numerous attacked launched on them by the herdsmen. Hundreds of people lost their lives, some are made motherless, fatherless, homeless and thousands are force to live on the Internal Displace Persons Camps (IDPs) with no fate of returning back to their homes quickly. It is worthy nothing, the things that make one to contribute his maximum contributions to the development, of the nation which includes; his level of food and nutrition security, his level of good health, his level of quality education, the level of Social welfare service, he has access to, and enjoys the opportunities he has to educate and develop himself and to maximize; his access of information, postal and other communication services to be informed and be inform his level of identification and satisfaction with what is going on generally in the society. It is unfortunate that those in the IDPs camps are deprived these days. What a pity!
Furthermore, the question dancing around the rips of almost all the concern citizens is; what is the government saying? Or doing about the killings? We demand justice from the government.
For us a people and a nation to establish Nigeria as United, strong, and self – reliant nation, a great and dynamic economy, a just and egalitarian society, a land of bright opportunities for all citizens; a free and democratic society. We need to embrace each other in love and peace, feeling the pains of one another and protect each other.
Our brothers and sisters are in pains,
Our children are in pains,
Our mothers are in agony,
Our people are running in the bush they have been chased out of their homes,
Our people are killed and wasted like animals,
Talents and dreams are cut short,
Our days has turn into dark night,
We therefore call for Federal Government intervention, and to look into our painful situation and restore peace back to homes.
