There are indications that President Muhammadu Buhari has thrown his weight behind Senate President, Ahmad Lawan as his preferred successor.
Buhari’s eleventh decision came after a meeting with top party leaders from the north, who insisted that it would be wrong for the president to hand over to a southerner, IDOMA VOICE reports.
It was gathered that Buhari was earlier rooting for his vice, Yemi Osinbajo as his successor but northern cabal are against him.
This is coming less than 24 hours after the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, named Lawan as the party’s consensus candidate.
This was further confirmed by the National Organising Secretary of the Party, Sulemain Arungungu.
