The Central bank of Nigeria CBN has introduced N7.00 for every USSD request by Nigerian mobile telephone users.
The deal was part of an agreement reached with banks amidst a raging disagreement between banks and telecom firms over USSD and other text message transaction requests,
The transaction was has been free for years, but telecom firms said the USSD service was expensive, alleging over N42 billion in debt by banks.
