Chief Obeya, also known as Ad’enone reportedly gave up the ghost on Monday 11 March, 2019.

The monarch’s name evokes great feelings among the numerous lives he has touched as a politician, philanthropist, sports promoter, contractor, transporter, entrepreneur, school and hospital proprietor, among others.
The royal father moved to Otukpo to become a transporter after their father died. He was also a contractor during the war and became a powerful politician who supported the emergence of the late Aper Aku as governor, Senator Ameh Ebute, Senator Godwin Okpe as well as the Shehu Shagari administration among others.
The royal father is also said to be a strong supporter of a former senate president, David Mark and a lover of youths who owned a band, a quarry, a football club, the Obeya Memorial Secondary School, Okpoga and St. Williams Secondary School, Otukpo.
Chief Obande also established a specialist hospital in Otukpo and employed foreign doctors, especially from Poland.
