President Bola Tinubu has designated Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the Acting Director-General (DG) of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

Engr. Coker-Odusote’s initial appointment spans a period of 90 days, commencing from August 24, 2023, as conveyed in a statement on Tuesday by Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesperson.

Subsequently, following this initial phase, a complete term of four years will commence, with Engr. Coker-Odusote officially becoming the substantive NIMC DG on November 24, 2023.

President Tinubu has also issued directives for the initiation of a 90-day pre-retirement leave for the outgoing NIMC DG, Engr. Aliyu Aziz. This leave will commence from August 24, 2023, ultimately leading to Engr. Aziz’s retirement from service on November 24, 2023.

Additionally, in response to the conclusion of the term of the former Director/CEO of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC), Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi, President Tinubu has sanctioned the appointment of Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub to assume the role of Director.
