A Kuje Magistrate Court on Wednesday granted bail to Alex Ikwechegh, a House of Representatives member representing Aba North and South, setting the bail at N500,000.
Ikwechegh was arraigned on charges of allegedly assaulting a Bolt driver, Stephen Abuwatseya, outside his residence in Abuja.
Deji Adeyanju, counsel for the Bolt driver, confirmed that Ikwechegh would appear before the court at noon on Wednesday.
The lawmaker recently went viral in a social media video where he was allegedly seen assaulting the driver. In the video, he could be heard threatening the driver, claiming he could make him “disappear without a trace.”
