Court sacks PDP’s Zakka as AMAC chairman, declares APC’s Karshi winner

IDOMA VOICE reports that the Area Council Election Petition Tribunal of the FCT in Wuse, Abuja has removed Christopher Zakka (Maikalangu) as chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC.

The tribunal declared Murtala Usman Karshi (Yamarayi) of the All Progressives Congress winner of the February chairmanship election in the FCT.

In the council elections result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr Christopher Zakka (Maikalangu) of the PDP had polled 19,302 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Murtala Usman Karshi (Yamarayi) of the APC, who scored 13,249.

The chairman of the tribunal, Muninat Folashade Oyekan asked INEC to withdraw Certificate of Return from Zakka and issue same to Karshi.
