Court sentences policeman Vandi to death for killing Omobolanle

A Lagos High Court, presided over by Justice Ibironke Harrison, has sentenced police officer Darambi Vandi to death by hanging for the murder of Lagos-based lawyer Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem on Christmas Day in 2022.

The tragic incident occurred on December 25, 2022, when the police officer shot Raheem in the chest at Ajah Roundabout, situated on the Lekki-Expressway in Lagos State.

The prosecution team, led by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo, presented a compelling case with a total of 11 witnesses, including eight police officers, two eyewitnesses, and a pathologist.
