BREAKING: COVID-19 lockdown: Boniface Apochi donates N2.5m to be shared among Owukpa people in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, others

Renowned philanthropist and community builder, Barr. Boniface Agada Apochi has donated the sum of N2.5m as a financial palliative to cushion the effect of coronavirus lockdown on the people of Owukpa community.

Barr. Apochi is the Managing Director/CEO of Nigeria’s premier financial technology company, UP (otherwise known as Unified Payments).

He made this announcement in a letter addressed to the traditional ruler of Owukpa,  HRH Chief Emmanuel Odeh Ad’Ogbadibo & Chairman, Ogbadibo Area Traditional Council.

IDOMA VOICE observed that those expected to benefit from the palliative include Owukpa people who are resident in Lagos, Abuja, Makurdi, Otukpo, Port Harcourt, Kaduna, Jos and Kano.

N2.5 MILLION FINANCIAL PALLIATIVE FOR OWUKPA SONS AND DAUGHTERS

Given the current economic challenges facing Nigeria and the entire world, I would like to provide a modest support of N5,000 (Five Thousand Naira) to 500 (Five Hundred) sons and daughters of Owukpa who may require financial assistance for feeding, making a total of N2.5 million.

*Number of Beneficiaries:*
The total number of beneficiaries will be 500 drawn from the following towns/cities:

  1. Lagos – 150
    2. Abuja – 150
    3. Makurdi – 50
    4. Otukpo – 50
    5. Port Harcourt – 25
    6. Kaduna – 25
    7. Jos – 25
    8. Kano – 25

Amount per beneficiary is N5,000.

*Eligibility*
i. A beneficiary need not be a member of ODA but must be a son or daughter of Owukpa resident in any of the towns indicated above.

  1. Where an individual is in employment, the salary should have been stopped or the person has other known challenges that makes feeding difficult.

iii. Beneficiary should be unable to feed himself or herself during this period.

  1. Only one (1) member of the same household, spouses or siblings should benefit.
  2. Beneficiaries should be those in need and should NOT under any circumstance be based on factors such as clan, sub-branches, Itabono, Ehaje, etc.

*Selection*
The National Leadership of ODA should work with the leadership of ODA in the towns/cities listed above to select the beneficiaries.

*Beneficiary Details:*
A type written list of beneficiaries in each town/city should be provided to me through ODA National Leadership with the following details:

  1. Name of beneficiary
    ii. Phone Number
    iii. Account Number & Bank. Where a beneficiary has no bank account, the names and account details of a care giver should be provided along with the details of the beneficiary. The list should be type written.

I await the type written list for each town/city to enable me effect payment to the beneficiaries and it is my hope that the selection will follow the above criteria.
