A communal crisis is currently brewing in Owukpa, a community in Ogbadibo LGA of Benue State over alleged plan to relocate the popular Ukwo Market to Adu village.
It was gathered that community leaders had agreed to relocate the over 200 years old market to Adu, where the Och’Owukpa palace is being built.
This decision did not go down well with many youths who barricaded the Adu bridge, thus preventing traders from Itabono, Ugbugbu Udaburu, Ekere and other villages from gaining entrance into the market.
At the moment, some elders are at the palace of Oche’Ehaje, Chief Antony Ocheme discussing the impasse.
More to come.
