No fewer 15 people have been confirmed dead at the Lekki Toll Gate protest site after security agents open fire on peaceful protesters still on the road after the Lagos state announcement of a curfew, set to begin at 4:00 p.m. this evening.
Nigerian soldiers trapped the protesters around the toll gate on Tuesday evening. At least eight were confirmed killed by witnesses and those beaming development from the scenes live on Tuesday night.
Sources on ground via an Instagram live stream confirmed this. Earlier this evening, the CCTV cameras at the toll gate and the LED panel were removed and turned off.
There are no lights on in the video, which many saw as strange as the roads are usually lit.
