The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, on Wednesday, officially transferred 14 recovered assets to Governor Peter Mba of Enugu State. The handover ceremony took place at the EFCC Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.
Olukoyede disclosed that these assets, which were seized by the commission, had been forfeited to the Federal Government. The EFCC initiated an investigation into this matter as far back as 2007 and has successfully prosecuted individuals involved.
Furthermore, Olukoyede revealed that upon a request from the EFCC, President Bola Tinubu instructed the transfer of these assets to the Enugu State Government. Among the assets handed over are real estate properties, radio and television transmission equipment, and a medical facility.
