EFCC reportedly clears Beta Edu
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly exonerated the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, of fraud allegations.
This development was disclosed by renowned Nigerian journalist Rufai Oseni in a post on his social media handle on Thursday.
He claimed that the anti-draft agency is expected to make an official announcement soon.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu suspended Edu following allegations of her involvement in a N585 million fraud.
It was reported that the suspended Minister allegedly attempted to transfer the N585 million, designated for social intervention programs, into a private account.
Edu has remained under investigation by the EFCC since then.
