Police officers have shot and killed a young boy in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as the #EndBadGovernance protest entered its third day.
The boy was reportedly shot at close range near Zenith Bank in Kubwa.
An eyewitness, who spoke after the incident, stated that the deceased was not involved in the protest.
“The boy was not part of the protesters; he was walking by after the police had pointed their guns at us from a different location,” the eyewitness said.
Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju condemned the incident as an act of unprovoked murder. Adeyanju claimed the boy was simply observing the protesters when he was shot.
In a statement to IDOMA VOICE, Adeyanju said: “IGP Kayode Egbetokun and his bloodthirsty men need to be held accountable for the killing of this innocent young man, who was shot at close range in the neck near Zenith Bank in Kubwa.
This is clearly an unprovoked murder, as the boy was merely watching the #EndBadGovernance protest before this tragic event.”
