Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has officially announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Mbah explained that the decision was driven by his commitment to accelerating the development of Enugu and aligning with the APC’s broader vision for progress and national growth.

“To the Peoples Democratic Party which provided us the platform on which we campaigned and won, I extend deep gratitude. The PDP supported us through a demanding campaign and joined us in celebrating the victory,” the governor said.

He emphasized that leadership often involves making tough but necessary choices to advance the people’s interests.

“Leadership demands difficult, even painful decisions, in the service of higher principles and goals. And there comes always a time where everyone must make a bold choice to determine their destiny. Today, after deep reflection, we have made a decision to join the All Progressives Congress.”

Mbah expressed confidence that the APC’s platform would create greater opportunities for collaboration, investment, and sustainable growth in Enugu State.

He assured residents of his unwavering dedication to delivering good governance and impactful development.

This move comes just a day after members of his cabinet also declared their allegiance to the APC, signaling a major political shift in the state’s leadership.
