BREAKING: Fire razes Borno IDPs camp

An Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp along Muna general area in Jere Local Government Area (LGA) in Maiduguri, Borno State, northeast Nigeria, has been gutted by fire, POLITICS NIGERIA reports.

Details of the incident is still foggy as of the time of publishing this report, but the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has been alerted to put the situation under control.

This news outlet recalls that on February 3, 2022, President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated the Committee on the Repatriation, Return and Resettlement of IDPs in the North East of Nigeria.

The members include ministers of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, Social Development, Interior, Foreign Affairs and Defence.
