The private residence of the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mariya Mahmoud, was engulfed in flames on Sunday afternoon, resulting in a complete destruction of the property.
The incident, which occurred at No. 9, Justice Roseline Ukeji Close, Asokoro, saw the house completely razed by the fire.
Reports indicate that despite the efforts, nothing could be salvaged from the property, with firefighters reportedly slow to respond.
As of now, there has been no official statement issued regarding the incident by the Media aide to the Minister, Mr. Austine Elemue.
However, when contacted for confirmation, Mr. Elemue acknowledged the incident.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be fully determined at the time of this report.
