BREAKING: Former Benue Gov, Samuel Ortom suspended from PDP
Samuel Ortom, a former Governor of Benue State, along with three others, has been suspended by the Benue Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for alleged anti-party activities.
The decision came from a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the PDP held in Makurdi.
Ortom’s suspension was announced alongside that of Mr. Isaac Mffor, the state Deputy Chairman of PDP, and Mr. Bemgba Iortyom, the state Publicity Secretary.
According to a statement issued on Monday by Cornelius Hwande, the PDP’s Media Consultant, Ortom was suspended due to his endorsement of the Labour Party candidate in the 2023 elections and his recent call for Benue PDP members to support the APC in the 2027 Presidential election.
Additionally, the party’s Vice Chairman of Zone A, Azua Ashongo, faced suspension for gross insubordination and indiscipline.
Mffor and Iortyom were suspended for their involvement in the alleged theft of Congress materials intended for the recent ward congresses held in Buruku and Ushongo local government areas.
