A suspended Roman Catholic priest and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia has been declared winner of the Saturday poll in Benue State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC made the announcement on Monday in Makurdi, the state capital.

Announcing the result on Monday, the Returning Officer, Prof FA Kuta said Alia polled the highest votes to defeat Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate, Titus Uba and Herman Hembe of the Labour Party in a thought battle.
