A fuel tanker went up in flames while offloading fuel at Shakatu Filling Station along Kiyawa Road in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, sparking panic among residents and commuters. Witnesses reported that the fire erupted suddenly, engulfing the tanker and parts of the filling station.
Security agencies quickly set up a roadblock to manage traffic and keep people away, while firefighters and emergency responders worked to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
As of the time of reporting, the fire was still burning, and the extent of damage or possible casualties remained unclear.
This incident comes months after a similar fire in Majia town, Taura Local Government Area, which claimed over 100 lives.
