A Bill for an Act for the establishment of a Teaching Hospital for Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUSHO), being sponsored by Distinguished Senator Abba Moro, on Wednesday, passed First Reading on the floor of the Senate.
The Hospital, if established, will serve as the training ground for medical students of the University and also attend to the medical needs of the good people of Benue South and Nigerians at large.
Recall that the Federal Government has already approved the establishment of the university and a vice-chancellor already appointed with academic activities gearing up.
However, the bill according to the Senator’s aide, Emmanuel Echeofun John, is to give a legislative backing to the premier university.
