On Thursday, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) elected former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, as the National Chairman, and Ajibola Basiru from Osun State as National Secretary during the 12th NEC meeting held in Abuja.

Ganduje promised to uphold internal democracy, ensure a scientific register of party members, and pay attention to election management and conflict resolution.

President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, along with other party leaders, were present at the meeting.

Ex-President Muhammadu Buhari and former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo were notably absent.

The President stated that the 2023 elections were the best in Nigeria’s history, and the APC aims to deliver good governance to the people.
