Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has approved the suspension of three top public officials in line with resolutions passed by the State House of Assembly.

The officials affected are the Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Mr. Maxwell Ogiri; the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mrs. Grace Adagba; and the Executive Secretary of the Benue State Lottery Commission, Mr. Michael Uper.

All three will serve a one-month suspension effective from Wednesday.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the rule of law, due process, and the principles of separation of powers.

He commended the House of Assembly for exercising its constitutional responsibilities and assured the people of Benue State that his government remains devoted to transparency, accountability, and good governance.

The governor further directed the affected institutions to ensure continuity of service during the suspension period and called on residents of the state to continue supporting government efforts to build a system that works for all.
