A Toyota Ciena car conveying 6 persons from Lagos and heading to Otukpo in Benue State was intercepted in 9th Mile, near Enugu on Saturday.
Loveth Oyibe, elder sister of two of the occupants, identified as 22-year-old Kate and Samuel 13, told DAILY POST that the gunmen intercepted the car and whisked all passengers away.
She, however, said that a passenger and the driver escaped.
“They left Lagos yesterday in the morning
“I called them from time to time to know their where about
“The last I spoke with my younger sister she said they where at 9th mile.
“And that was d last time we spoke.
“I called later around 9 to know their where about but the number was switched off.
“I ask him to call my uncle that they were to stay in his house in otukpo.”
Oyibe later alleged that the occupants of the vehicle were kidnapped, saying, “My younger sister jst called my daddy saying they were kidnapped.
“The kidnapper spoke to my dad saying he should arrange money for them. He said he will send the number to me soon.”
The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ebere Amarizu, confirmed the report to DAILY POST.
He said the police was already working and trying to track the kidnappers.
