Armed gunmen stormed Hilltop Phase 2 Extension of the Nigerian Army Post-Housing Estate, resulting in the abduction of the wife of renowned lawyer Barrister Cyril Adikwu and his mother-in-law.
The brazen attack unfolded around 9 pm, as heavily armed assailants infiltrated the area, firing shots indiscriminately to create panic among residents. Despite the presence of soldiers within the estate, the kidnappers managed to escape with the two women through the hillside.
Reports suggest that the primary target was Barrister Adikwu, but he was fortunately not present at the time of the invasion. The kidnappers seized the opportunity as the lawyer’s wife was entering her compound.
A reliable source provided details, stating, “Yesterday at about 9 pm, some kidnappers entered this estate and kidnapped a woman at the Hilltop Extension. The target was the husband, but they couldn’t get him as he was not around. As the woman was driving into her compound, they got her. As her son started shouting, they too started shooting. They went away with her through the hillside. Soldiers have been deployed to trace them; hopefully, they will be apprehended. The CCTV in the house captured them.”
