Gunmen believed to be bandits abducted five female students of the Federal University, Dutsin-ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State on Wednesday morning.
It was reported that the students were taken from their residence located behind Mariamoh Ajiri Memorial International School, along Tsaskiya road, at approximately 2:30 am.
Various sources, including university staff and students, confirmed the incident.
A witness stated that the bandits, armed and in a significant number, targeted the students’ residence along Tsaskiya road and forcefully abducted them.
The Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, also verified the abduction and mentioned that some suspects had been apprehended in connection with the case. He added that investigations were underway to determine the circumstances of the incident and ensure the safe release of the abducted students. More updates to follow.
