BREAKING: Hardship in Nigeria: Tinubu, Govs, IGP, Wike, others meet in Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu convened an urgent meeting with governors from all states, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FTC) Chief Nyesom Wike, and other key stakeholders. Vice President Kashim Shettima is also in attendance, with the session commencing around 11:30 am on Thursday.

Held at the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja, the meeting aims to address the pressing security and economic challenges gripping the nation.

The Federal Government has initiated the release of significant quantities of assorted grains into the market to ensure food availability, affordability, and accessibility nationwide.

Meanwhile, concerted efforts are underway to curb the surge in criminal activities through enhanced coordination among the armed forces and other paramilitary agencies.

President Tinubu is scheduled to depart for the AU summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia immediately after this crucial session with the governors.
