BREAKING: Heartless soldiers beat Idoma boys to coma with cutlass at Benue-Enugu boundary for lockdown violation

Soldiers said to be enforcing the interstate travel ban along Enugu-Otukpo road have reportedly beaten two boys to coma for violating the order.

Benue and Enugu State have closed their borders to outsiders to curtail the spread of the coronavirus.

IDOMA VOICE observed that Benue and Enugu share a common boundary in Inyi close to Orokam.

 

The victims identified as Edache Abah(Zag man) and Ekere Anne Abah (Filanto) were stopped by the security men at the boundary.’

A community source, Agbo told IDOA VOICE that, “When they approached the boundary with motorcycles, soldiers asked where they came from, they answered there were from Benue. The soldiers gave them cutlass to clear grass at the boundary as instructed by the Enugu State Governor.  Having done that, the soldiers still used koboko (horsewhip) and the flat area of cutlass to flog them.

 

“The Edache Abah is living close to the boundary , where the soldiers are stationed.

“Sir, it would interest you to noted that Edache went to get food items for his wife from Obollo Afor. He was with a bag of beans, two 25 litres of fuel when soldiers arrested him.

Another Orokam man with tubers of yam was beaten with koboko.

“No one knows if the Edache can survive because the assault was terrible.”
