Herdsmen attack Agatu, kill pregnant woman, 10 others in Usha

Unknown gunmen struck Ole’Adag’aklo village in Usha Council Ward, Agatu LGA of Benue State, leaving 11 dead, including a pregnant woman. The assailants attacked Sunday evening, prompting residents to report the brutal assault.

Agatu LGA Chairman, Yakubu Ochepo, confirmed the tragedy on Monday, stating that seven bodies, including those of an elderly man and five youths, have been recovered. Additional forces were deployed to retrieve the remaining four bodies amidst ongoing security concerns.

While the police spokesperson, SP Catherine Anene, expressed unawareness of the incident, local authorities are mobilizing efforts to address the escalating violence.
