The House of Representatives has confirmed Olufemi Oluyede as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) following a report presented by Babajimi Benson, Chairman of the Committee on Defense.
Oluyede’s confirmation came after a thorough screening by the Joint Committee on Army and Defense on Wednesday.
President Bola Tinubu had nominated Oluyede as Acting COAS following the deteriorating health of the former Chief of Army Staff, Taoreed Lagbaja, who later passed away.
