The Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government, Rt. Hon. George Alli, has declared a curfew in Otukpo town and its environs, on Sunday, April 24th, 2022; beginning from 4:00 pm, on Sunday, April 24th, 2022, to 6:00 am on Monday, April 25th, 2022.
The curfew is coming on the heels of the unrest which trailed the killing of an unidentified young man suspected to have killed and snatched the motorbike of an Okada operator in Otukpo.
Hon. Alli, while condemning the mob action (Jungle Justice) meted out to the deceased, sympathised with his family and called on the security to bring the perpetrators to book.
The Chairman warned that anyone wishing to take advantage of the situation to cause havoc will be made to face the wrath of the law as a combined security team of military personnel, the Police, and other sister agencies have been mobilized to enforce order until normalcy is restored.
Hon. Alli equally called on parents and guardians to closely monitor and warn their children against criminality.
