BREAKING: Mangu: Gov Mutfwang declares 24-hour curfew as Plateau boils
Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has announced a 24-hour curfew in the Mangu Local Government Area, effective immediately.
This decision comes in response to protests that resulted in the burning of houses in Mangu Town.
In a statement, the governor’s office said, “Governor Mutfwang took the decision after consultations with the relevant security agencies. He stated that only individuals engaged in essential duties are permitted to move within the local government area until further notice.”
The governor urged all citizens, particularly residents of Mangu Local Government Area, to adhere to the directive and collaborate with security personnel by providing reliable information to restore peace and order in the area.
Expressing concern over persistent attempts to destabilize the state, Governor Mutfwang conveyed sympathy to the families of the victims and the injured.
He assured them that the government remains committed to ending the activities of disruptive elements.
