Reports reaching us from Tudun Biri in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State indicate a grim turn of events during a Maulud celebration, where numerous villagers are feared dead following a bomb explosion allegedly caused by a military jet.
The incident occurred on Sunday around 9 pm.
Daily Trust reports that the bomb detonated during a gathering organized to commemorate Maulud in the village, resulting in the tragic loss of around 30 lives.
Samuel Aruwan, the Overseeing Commissioner of the State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, has refrained from disclosing specific casualty numbers at this point.
However, he hinted at an upcoming press conference scheduled to be held at the Government House, where the government intends to provide more information.
“We will address the press at Government House on the situation because there would be a security meeting later. So, let’s meet by 10 am,” commented Aruwan in response to inquiries from Daily Trust.
