Tragedy has struck Ogbaulu community in Agatu Local Government Area, Benue State as unidentified gunmen have reportedly killed several persons in an unprovoked raid.
According to reports from residents on Friday, approximately three individuals fell victim to the attack.
Expressing concern, Dr. Adaje U. J., an Idoma community member, bemoaned the persistent assaults and senseless killings within the community. He questioned the responsiveness of political and traditional leaders in addressing these ongoing crises.
Adaje remarked, “We must question the communication between our local chiefs and political representatives and leaders. Are political and chieftaincy positions merely for personal gain, devoid of any responsibilities? We demand answers.”
Another resident highlighted the urgent need for external assistance for the community, citing the perceived lack of support from federal and state governments.
“The international community must intervene,” he asserted. “Our survival is at stake, and without assistance, we face the threat of extinction.”
