BREAKING: Many trapped as Ugo West Hotel under construction collapses in Jikwoyi, Abuja

Several persons are feared trapped after a hotel building, identified as Ugo West Hotel and still under construction, collapsed in the Jikwoyi area of Abuja on Friday.

The incident sparked panic across the community, as residents and passersby rushed to the scene to assist in ongoing rescue efforts.

Eyewitnesses said the structure suddenly caved in, leaving workers and others at the site buried beneath the rubble.

As of the time of filing this report, the exact number of victims—either trapped or injured—remains unknown, with emergency responders yet to arrive at the scene.

Local volunteers have since begun preliminary rescue operations, clearing debris in a desperate attempt to reach those feared trapped.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the cause of the collapse.
