BREAKING: Massive fire guts Araromi spare parts market in Ibadan

A massive fire has ravaged the popular Araromi spare parts market at Agodi-Gate in Ibadan, Oyo State, causing extensive damage to property worth millions of naira.

The fire reportedly broke out around 2 am on Saturday and continues to spread, with firefighters still working tirelessly to bring it under control.

Confirming the incident to , Akinyemi Akinyinka, the General Manager of Oyo State Fire Services, stated, “We are battling with a serious inferno at Agodi-Gate. Please help us by calling water tanker owners to assist. We are still here fighting the situation.”

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, with investigations still underway.

In a separate incident, a tragic fire claimed the lives of a husband, wife, and their grandson on Friday in the Ori-Eru, Idikan area of Ibadan. The fire affected a storey building and occurred at 3:46 am.

Earlier this week, another fire devastated Ibadan, destroying three shops on Sunday morning. Fortunately, thanks to the swift response of the state fire services, 13 other shops were saved.

Additionally, on Friday night, a fire engulfed a parish of the Christ Apostolic Church in Ibadan, reportedly trapping several worshippers inside during a vigil. The fire occurred around 9:30 pm at Wisdom Estate, Road 1G, Olohunda Road, in the Lagelu Local Government Area.
