BREAKING: Mr Ibu’s leg amputated to keep him alive

In a bid to enhance his chances of recovery, veteran Nollywood actor John Okafor, known as Mr. Ibu, has had one of his legs amputated.

The news was announced via Mr. Ibu’s verified Instagram page in a statement issued by his daughter on Monday. The statement revealed that the comic actor underwent seven successful surgeries in one day, which included the amputation of one of his legs.

The statement reads, “As of 1 pm today, Daddy has undergone seven successful surgeries, but to keep him alive and increase his chances of recovery, one of his legs had to be amputated. This development has been hard on us all, but we’ve had to accept it as Daddy’s new reality to keep him alive. Please, we are still soliciting support from well-meaning Nigerians.”

It was reported last month that the actor’s family had revealed that his legs might be amputated due to an undisclosed ailment.
