N4b fraud: Obiano in court as money laundering trial begins

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is preparing to bring former Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, to court, facing nine charges of an alleged N4 billion fraud.

Obiano is accused of committing these offenses during his tenure as the governor of Anambra State in the South-East region from March 2014 to March 2022.

The 68-year-old ex-governor has been summoned to appear before Justice Inyang Ekwo at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Accompanied by EFCC officials, Obiano has arrived at the Abuja division of the Federal High Court, where he awaits the trial judge, who has not yet arrived at the time of this report.
