Obiano granted bail with travel restrictions

Justice Inyang Ekwo from the Federal High Court in Abuja has approved bail for Willie Obiano, the recently ousted governor of Anambra State.

The court specified that the ex-governor is to stay within the court’s jurisdiction and directed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to submit Obiano’s travel documents to the court registrar.

Furthermore, the registrar was instructed to inform the Nigerian Immigration Service about these conditions.

Slyvanus Tahir, SAN, the prosecution counsel, had requested the court to detain the former governor. The case has been adjourned until March 4, 5, 6, and 7 for the continuation of the trial.
