BREAKING: Osodeke emerges new ASUU president

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has elected Prof. Victor Emmanuel Osodeke of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in Abia State as its new president.

This follows the termination of Professor Biodun Ogunyemi’s tenure on Saturday after four years.

ASUU during its national delegates conference held in Awka, Anambra State, at the weekend, elected a new executive council to take over leadership of the union for two years after which they may be reelected.

Professor Chris Piwuna, a Consultant Psychiatrist and Associate Professor in the College of Medicine, University of Jos was also elected as the Vice President.

Others are Prof. Siji Sowande (Treasurer); Prof. Ade Adejumo (Financial Secretary); Dr. Austen Sado (Investment Secretary); Dr. Adamu Babayo (Internal Auditor) and Dr Stella-Maris Okey (Welfare Secretary).
