The House of Assembly candidate for Otukpo/Akpa state constituency in the 2023 elections, Hon. Owoicho George Adama Wednesday 2nd November, 2022 escaped assassination.
IDOMA VOICE gathered that the attacked on Hon. Owoicho by the yet-to-be identified gunmen occurred between Akpachi and Otada village, the area where the Federal university of Health Sciences Otukpo (FUHSO) is situated.
An eye witness revealed that “the attackers were monitoring our movements unknowingly to us, we went for consultations in between Akpachi and Otada villages not far from FUHSO, on our way out, some gunmen came out of no where and began shooting into the air.
“The gunmen thought Hon. Owoicho was inside his SUV but he wasn’t and rather in the small vehicle behind his car. The men of the underworld headed straight to his car and couldn’t find him despite spotting him earlier, so they forcefully dragged his kinsman, simply identified as Agaba, who was driving the SUV into the nearby bushes and went away with him.”
