Gunmen have abducted more than 20 medical and dental students, along with a House Officer, in Benue State.
The students, en route to the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FECAMDS) annual convention in Enugu, were traveling together from the University of Maiduguri and University of Jos when they were ambushed by the gunmen around 5:30 pm in the Otukpo area.
SP Catherine Anene, spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation has been initiated.
“Yes, the kidnapping report is accurate. We received the report between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm, and an investigation is underway,” Anene said.
