BREAKING: Oyelola Ashiru replaces Umahi as Senate Deputy Leader

The Senate Appoints Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru as Deputy Leader and Senator Nwebonyi Onyeka as Deputy Chief Whip

In a recent development, the Senate has named Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, representing Kwara South from the All Progressives Congress, as the new Deputy Leader of the Senate. Additionally, Senator Nwebonyi Onyeka has been appointed as the new Deputy Chief Whip.

These appointments were officially announced during the Senate’s plenary session by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The position of Deputy Leader of the Senate was previously held by Senator Dave Umahi, who was appointed as the Minister of Works by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, thus creating a vacancy in the position.
