Many passengers sustained serious injuries when a Toyota Hiace bus reportedly veered off the road and plunged into a stream in Benue State.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Mbagwa, within Kwande Local Government Area.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that all occupants were rescued by nearby passersby.
According to sources, the driver of the bus, which was en route to Ikyogen, lost control, causing it to skid off the road and into the stream.
Confirming the incident, local community leader Chief Akile Tyovihi mentioned that the bus was traveling from Makurdi.
He added that his son, who had recently completed a recruitment examination, was among the injured passengers and suffered severe injuries.
