BREAKING: Police storm PDP secretariat in Abuja

Published

on

Security operatives on Monday took control of the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abuja, ahead of a highly anticipated National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting.

Armed police officers were seen stationed at strategic points around Wadata Plaza, the PDP’s national headquarters, with access to Dalaba Street completely restricted.

Party sources revealed that the security deployment may be linked to efforts to halt a proposed Expanded NEC Caucus Meeting, which has sparked internal disagreement among key stakeholders.

Initially, PDP staff members were allowed into the premises without obstruction. However, they were later asked to vacate the secretariat, alongside journalists who had arrived to cover the expected meeting.

At the time of this report, the party has yet to issue an official statement on the situation, while the motive behind the police action remains unclear.

More details to follow.
