Report reaching IDOMA VOICE has it that renowned Benue-born legal practitioner, Denen Orkar, is dead.
IDOMA VOICE gathered that the lawyer died at the National Hospital Abuja, on Tuesday.
Orkar died after falling ill for six weeks.
The family confirmed this in a statement signed by Samuel Terver Orkar.
The statement reads:
“With a deep sense of loss but gratitude to the Most High God, we regret to announce the passing unto glory of our Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Cousin, Uncle and Friend Barr. Denen Simon Orkar.
“Barr. Denen passed on the 19th April 2021 at about 4.30pm. He took ill suddenly about 6 weeks ago and has been in and out of hospital. Doctors at the National Hospital have been carrying out investigations and suspected he had an advance aggressive form of pancreatic cancer.
“Until his passing, He was in private law practice in Abuja, Nigeria. He is survived by His Wife – Jennifer, His Sons – DondoAondo, Terkuma and Aondosoo, and his daughter – Secivir. His mother – Esther Ngurumun Orkar, Brothers- Samuel, Malcolm and Luter and his Sisters- Victoria Begha and Doowuese Ebakor. His Uncles and Aunties, Cousins, Nephews and nieces.
“The family is in great shock and distress at this time, we appreciate your calls, chats and other communications to express your condolences and warm wishes. We ask for your understanding as we may not respond to all you questions and inquiries at this time.
“Kindly note that family, church, professional and traditional bodies are in consultation and dates for funeral rites and activities will be communicated accordingly.
Dear Denen, Sleep on until the appearing of our saviour.”
