The Benue State Government has confirmed Professor Tor Iorapuu as the Vice Chancellor of the Benue State University.
The development came barely three days after we broke the news of his appointment.
Terver Akase, Ortom’s spokesman had while reacting claimed it was untrue.
However, the state government has officially confirmed Iorapuu as the new head of the state-owned University.
The current VC, Kembe’s tenure ends next month.
Prof. Iorapuu floored other 27 professors who vied for the position after an examination.

A Professor who had earlier submitted online application for the position of the Vice-Chancellor of Benue State University (BSU), Eugene Aliegba, had earlier withdrawn from the race.
Aliegba, a professor of Political Science of over 20 years’ experience, withdrew from the examination.
Others who passed the examinations were: Saasongu Unongu, Ama Doki, Vitalis Tarhule Verlumun, U.D. Ikoni and Omudu Agbo.
