BREAKING: Professor with Veritas University Abuja, others kidnapped in Otukpo

It was a terrible scene in Otukpo last night as an unnamed Professor with Veritas University Abuja, his driver and others were abducted in Otukpo by unknown gunmen.

One professor from the Benue State University Makurdi narrowly escaped the onslaught.

In a video displayed by a good Samaritan, Rt Comr John Acha, two vehicles, a black and white Hilux littered with bloodstains were abandoned at the scene without their occupants, an indication some of the abductees were also shot by the kidnappers.

It is surprising that Otukpo (Texas City) which was once the most secured and peaceful city in the Benue South, has suddenly transmogrified into a den of kidnappers in Benue State.

Kidnappings have become recurrent activities in the traditional headquarter of Idoma land as hardly could a pass bye without hearing of abductions of innocent people by unknown gunmen.

As at the time of filing this report, there whereabout of the victims was still unknown, security personnel were at the location, trying put the situation under control and no words from either the police or the local government.
