The Senate is set to honor the late Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah with a valedictory session dedicated to his memory.
The casket bearing the remains of the former senator representing Anambra South lies in state at the foyer of the White House wing in the National Assembly Complex.
The Senate’s order paper for the day lists a single agenda item: “Valedictory Session.”
As the plenary begins, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele (APC – Ekiti Central) will propose the motion:
“That the Senate do now pay tributes in honor of late Senator Ubah, Patrick Ifeanyi (Anambra South) (3rd September 1971 – 26th July 2024).”
Family members, friends, political allies, and dignitaries from Anambra and other South-East states have convened in the Senate chamber to participate in the solemn occasion.
Naija News recalls that Senator Ifeanyi Ubah passed away on July 27, 2024, in London, at the age of 52.
