BREAKING: Samia Suluhu becomes Tanzania’s Acting President

Dr. Samia Suluhu has become Tanzania’s Acting President.

This comes after the death of President John Magufuli who passed away on Wednesday, at the age of 61.

Late President Magufuli won re-election with 84.40% of the votes in October 2020 and was to serve for 5 years.

She assumed office as Tanzania’s first female Vice President on November 5, 2015.

She will rule till 2025.

Samia has also made history as the first female Muslim President in East Africa.
